Help for Oklahoma City survivors and families
We do not have an office in Oklahoma City. We serve OKC clients from our office at 1733 S. Lewis in Tulsa, and the distance does not change how we work. Many first conversations happen by phone or video, and we can talk about meeting in person when your case calls for it.
We represent survivors of sexual abuse and assault, people hurt in violent crimes and families affected by car and truck wrecks. Attorney Laura Martinez speaks Spanish, so you can talk with us in Spanish if you prefer.

Cases we handle
Who we represent in Oklahoma City
Civil claims for survivors, including assault by someone the survivor knew and trusted.
01
Oklahoma County courts and your civil case
Civil cases for harm in Oklahoma City are often filed in Oklahoma County District Court, part of the Seventh Judicial District. The court sits in the Oklahoma County Courthouse at 321 Park Ave. in downtown Oklahoma City, an Art Deco building completed in 1937. Oklahoma City also stretches into Canadian, Cleveland and Pottawatomie counties, so depending on where the harm happened, a case may belong in another county or in federal court.
A civil case is separate from any criminal case the Oklahoma County District Attorney may bring. It does not need charges or a conviction, and it moves forward only with your permission. We explain where your case would be filed, and why, before anything happens.

Wrecks at the crossroads of Oklahoma
Oklahoma City sits where I-35, I-40 and I-44 meet, and I-235 and I-240 carry even more traffic through the metro. The junction of I-35 and I-40 near downtown is often called the Crossroads of America. Long-haul trucks pass through these interchanges day and night, which raises the risk of serious wrecks for local drivers.
A crash with a commercial truck often involves a trucking company, its insurer and federal safety rules, so it helps to learn how truck wreck claims work early. In most cases, Oklahoma gives you two years to file a personal injury lawsuit, but exceptions apply, so talk to a lawyer about your deadline. If you were hurt in an OKC wreck, call (918) 221-3861 and we will go over your options.

Support for survivors in Oklahoma City
Oklahoma City has its own family justice center. Palomar offers support for people affected by domestic violence, sexual assault, stalking, human trafficking, child abuse and elder abuse, with staff and partner agencies under one roof. If you are in danger right now, call 911.
Advocates and counselors help with safety and healing. A civil lawyer helps with something different: holding the person or organization responsible to account and seeking payment for therapy, medical care and other losses. You can talk with us whether or not you have reported what happened, and whether or not you are working with an advocate.

Why Oklahoma City clients call a Tulsa team
We are a small, all-female team, and many survivors tell us that matters to them. Attorney Laurie Koller has practiced law since 1991, has tried more than 100 cases and now focuses on survivors of sexual abuse and assault. She has served as president of the Oklahoma Association for Justice. Attorney Laura Martinez brings experience in public defense and corporate finance, and she works with clients in English and Spanish.
You will always know who is handling your case and how to reach them. Send us a message or call (918) 221-3861 when you are ready.

Common questions
Questions from Oklahoma City clients
Do you have an office in Oklahoma City?
No. Our only office is in Tulsa, at 1733 S. Lewis, and we serve Oklahoma City clients from there. Many first conversations happen by phone or video, so you can get answers without leaving home. When an in-person meeting is needed, we will talk with you about the options and plan around what works for you.
Where would my case be filed?
Many cases for harm in Oklahoma City are filed in Oklahoma County District Court at the Oklahoma County Courthouse, 321 Park Ave. Parts of Oklahoma City sit in Canadian, Cleveland and Pottawatomie counties, though, and some cases belong in federal court. The right court depends on where the harm happened and who is responsible. We will explain it before anything is filed.
Will I have to travel to Tulsa?
Not to get started. You can talk with us by phone or video, and much of a civil case happens through calls, documents and meetings. If your case needs an in-person meeting or a court date, we will tell you ahead of time and plan it with you.
How long do I have to file after a wreck in Oklahoma City?
In most cases, Oklahoma gives you two years from the date of the injury to file a personal injury lawsuit, and two years from the date of death for a wrongful death claim. Exceptions can change that, so talk to a lawyer about your deadline soon.
